  • What are the SOCraft Awards?

    SOCraft is an independent awards body that spotlights those pushing the frontiers of the global craft spirits industry. It is also the first awards body that includes “sustainability footprint” as a core judging criterion.

    Through a well-regarded panel of experts and enthusiasts from Asia's vibrant bar community, the awards serve as an Asian-centric lens, providing craft spirit makers with an immediate gateway to the region’s thriving bar industry.

  • When did the SOCraft Awards begin?

    May 2024 marks the inaugural edition of SOCraft Awards. SOCraft Awards the first Asia-based awards that spotlights the art of craft spirits making, and a gateway into Asia for global craft spirits makers.

  • When will the SOCraft Awards take place?

  • Who are the organisers of SOCraft Awards?

    SOCraft Awards is organised by FoodNews Creative Marketing Agency, a leading F&B marketing agency in Southeast Asia and the co-founder of the Singapore Cocktail Festival.

  • Who can participate in the SOCraft Awards?

    SOCraft is open to craft spirit distillers from any part of the world. For more information on participation criteria, click here.

  • What are the criteria for participation?

    SOCraft Awards is open to craft spirit distillers from any part of the world. Craft spirit distillers must be majority independently owned and already be marketing themselves as such. They must produce no more than 750,000 gallons annually (In accordance with American Craft Spirits Association). For more information on the participation criteria, click here.

  • How are the craft spirits judged?

    SOCraft Awards’ judging panel consists of spirits experts and enthusiasts from the Asia bar industry. There are a total of 36 judges, consisting of bar owners and bartenders, spirits writers, importers, distributors and sustainability champians cross Asia.

    SOCraft judges will be evaluating craft spirits based on aroma and bouquet, mouth-feel, taste, finish, overall impression and sustainability footprint. For more information on the judging criteria, click here.

  • Who are the judges?

    SOCraft Awards’ judging panel consists of bar owners and bartenders, spirits writers, importers, distributors and sustainability champions across Asia. These judges are nominated annually by an esteemed SOCraft Committee. For more information on our Committee, click here.

  • How does SOCraft ensure a fair judging process?

    While the judges are selected by an esteemed SOCraft Committee, SOCraft Awards performs necessary due diligence to ensure that each nominated judge is well-regarded by peers for their expertise and knowledge of the spirits and drinks industry. Additionally, the brands are not revealed during the closed-door judging, and representatives from SOCraft Awards are around at all times to ensure that judges are not discussing or influencing the scores.

  • How can I be sure that our craft spirits are served correctly during the judging process?

    All spirits are served at an ambient room temperature and proper glassware is provided.

  • Will I be given information on the score as well as feedback after judging?

    Results from the judging will not be shared. Winners will only be informed of the final results.

  • Can I enter multiple expressions under the same brand?

    Yes, you may. However, each expression is considered as one entry, and the fee of SGD380 per entry is chargeable. For more information on entry requirements and how to enter, contact us.

  • Is the participation fee SGD380 per brand or per expression?

    Each expression is considered as one entry, and the fee of SGD380 is NOT inclusive of shipping costs and local goverment alcohol taxes for sample bottles for judging. For more information on entry requirements and how to enter, contact us.

  • What are the different winning categories?

    There are four winning categories: 1-Star, 2-Stars, 3-Stars and Platinum. For more information on what each category represents, click here.

  • How are winners notified?

    An official announcement will be published on SOCraft Awards’ and Singapore Cocktail Festival’s social media channels. Winners will also be notified via email. More details on the entry and judging timeline are available here.

  • What type of exposure will winners enjoy?

    Winners will enjoy mentions on SOCraft’s website, social media, e-mailer and quarterly interactive e-magazine which are distributed to a global bar community. A press release will also be issued to leading drinks media (consumer and trade) from around the world.

    Winners will also be a part of an exclusive trade and media sampling session, organised by SOCraft Awards.

  • What marketing collaterals are available for winners’ use?

    Accreditation labels in both print and digital formats. A winners’ package will be given, and additional orders for collaterals can be placed via our website.

  • How long is the accreditation valid for?

    The accreditation will be valid for 12 months from the date of announcement. SOCraft will send out a reminder email close to expiry date, to all winners. You will need to re-enter the awards for accreditation in the new year.

  • WILL SOCraft Awards pay for or assist with the shipment of sample bottles for judging use?

    SOCraft Awards will provide a shipping checklist and best practices guide after the submission is successfully processed. For craft spirits that are not already in Singapore, the guide will provide recommendations on the shipping process end-to-end, as well as a trusted Singapore-based logistics firm to support with receiving, checking and storage of the samples until judging period.

    The cost of the samples, shipping, local handling and local alcohol taxes will be borne by the awards entrant.
